cake care tips
Ensure your cake is perfect from storage to serving with our helpful tips! Learn how to properly store, transport, and display your cake, along with advice for cutting and serving tiered cakes. Whether for a wedding or special occasion, these simple steps will ensure your cake remains as stunning as when it was created.
Storage Before the Event
If you need to store the cake before your event, keep it in the fridge, not the freezer. Freezing may affect the texture and appearance of the cake.
Temperature & Display
Buttercream and heat don’t mix! Keep the cake in a cool place until it's ready to be displayed. If your event is outdoors, make sure the cake is in the shade and chilled beforehand. Avoid placing the cake near heat sources like fireplaces, direct sunlight, or other warm areas.
Transportation Tips
When transporting the cake, ensure it's placed on a flat, sturdy surface like the floor or trunk of your vehicle. The car should be kept cool during transport. Drive carefully and slowly to avoid any damage. We are not responsible for any damage caused during transportation by the client.
Cake Table Setup
Make sure the cake table is level and stable. If you're using a cake stand, ensure it's strong enough to support the weight of the cake. The stand should also be at least 2 inches wider than the base of the cake for added stability.
Placement During the Event
Avoid placing the cake in high-traffic areas or near large speakers, which can cause vibrations or accidental bumps that may damage the cake.
Tiered Cakes
Be mindful that tiered cakes are supported by dowels, which are inserted into the center of each tier. These need to be removed before cutting into the cake.
Helpful Tools for Cutting
A sharp knife, cutting board, and warm water are great for cutting through larger cakes.
